Background

ADP Dealer Services International supplies software solutions and IT systems internationally for the retail automotive industry. As part of a reorganisation to focus on better supporting its customers the company needed to re-configure its UK head office at Hungerford, Berkshire. The project required the dismantling of a number of cellular offices to form open plan space to accommodate a number of staff from another building. It was critical that the project was completed in the shortest possible timescale and with minimal disruption to business operations.

Pleased with the quality of workmanship that Newbury Interiors had completed for them in the past and their attention to detail, ADP Dealer Services asked Newbury Interiors to optimise and refit the space, recycling and reusing materials wherever possible.

Scope of works

  • Meet and discuss requirements with client
  • Present and agree proposal to fit budget and design requirements
  • Consultation on building regulations application & noise reduction
  • Partition removal and reinstallation
  • Flooring & furniture reconfiguration
  • 6 executive offices
  • Alterations to lighting and power
  • Blind alteration and installation
  • Decoration to match with existing scheme

Critical issues

The first floor office area needed reconfiguring and fitting-out within a very short timeframe to incorporate an additional 25 staff. ADP knew how they wanted the new layout to look and Newbury Interiors worked closely with them on the design to ensure it worked effectively in practice. Some cellular offices were stripped out so that the new layout contains a mixture of open plan and cellular offices.

Working to tight timescales and attention to detail were paramount to meet the requirements and ensure minimal disruption. The whole project was carried out over a two week deadline that ADP had set and in two phases so that workstations were usable during the project.
