Background
Vibro-Meter is a leading manufacturer of sensor technologies for the aerospace industry. With the lease on its existing premises in Basingstoke, Hampshire, due to expire, the company engaged project manager John McComb to manage the location and fit-out of new premises which would support planned growth over the next five to ten years.
Pleased with work that Newbury Interiors had completed for his clients in the past, John engaged the company to handle the interior fit-out of the new building, also in Basingstoke.
Scope of works

- Create design concepts based on outline architectural drawings
- Advise on selection of materials and finishes
- Install suspended ceiling solutions
- Install wall linings and window boards
- Install carpet tiles and vinyl flooring
- Fit out washrooms
- Design and create the reception area
Critical issues
Vibro-Meter's key objectives for the move were as follows:
- Complete the move to the new building, and the dilapidation of the old, by 8th December 2006
- Complete the project within budget
- Complete the project without significant disruption to either Vibro-Meter or the company's customers
All three objectives were achieved, with the new building completed and occupied four weeks ahead of schedule.
